Become A Stakeholder
Residents of all communities must stake a claim of ownership and responsibility for their surroundings in order for a city to work and prosper. When neighbors join forces on matters of shared importance, the neighborhood, as a whole becomes a better place to live, work and visit. While there is no greater benefit of membership than a high quality of life for our families and beautiful neighborhood for our visitors to see, we’ve added a little lagniappe for our members:

Members are invited to the Spring membership meeting at one of the lovely homes in the neighborhood, to the Halloween Trick or Treat and family party, and to meet with the Assessor of the District during August of reassessment years.

Members are invited to the Fall Affair Gala each year held at our favorite neighborhood world-class restaurant, Commanders’ Palace.

Members receive periodic newsletters that update them on GDA activities and neighborhood changes.
Members are invited to join our email broadcast list to get brief news bulletins on activities specific to the Garden District as they arise.

Members are welcome to use the special reference list of home repair service providers and specialty craftsmen recommended by neighbors of the area.

Sponsor Members and Sustaining Members are invited to attend the President’s Reception.

Members receive oak tree stickers for display on their cars for identification as a neighborhood vehicle.

Members are encouraged to voice their concerns and opinions on new developments, alcoholic beverage outlet requests, zoning matters, and quality of life issues.

Members are invited to participate in Association committees and are eligible for nomination to the Board of Directors.
